I have an MBA with an extensive history of strategic/operational/retail marketing and business development accomplishments both on the client and supplier side - both domestic and international in scope.
I have established core marketing functions within Fortune 500 companies for the wireless telecom, consumer electronics and residential homebuilding industries. I have demonstrated success in areas such as key account management, new business development, new product creation and launch, competitive intelligence, retail advertising and sales support, primary and secondary research, and international marketing and research initiatives.
Currently, I am subcontract consulting for the company I first worked with after receiving my undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University. MacKay & Company is a specialized management consulting and market research firm headquartered in suburban Chicago. The company's focus since 1968 has been, and continues to be, commercial on-highway vehicles, construction equipment, farm field machinery and related components such as engines and transmissions. The scope of the practice includes analyses of both original equipment and aftermarket potential, strategic options, distribution policies, product introduction, quality management, acquisitions and a range of related subjects.
I have had the unique opportunity in my career to be directly involved with two category creating retail consumer electronic products - the FRS two-way radio with Motorola and Audrey (an Internet appliance) while with 3Com. In both cases I was part of the core management team responsible for developing and bringing these products to market. My efforts have included such endeavors as: conducting consumer research and segmentation, ethnographic research, analyzing retail distribution partners and channels, assessing various media effectiveness and monitoring the competition and the competitive landscape.
Having worked for the majority of my career primarily in two industries that have experienced historically significant market downturns, I am seeking opportunities that will provide me with more long term growth and stability.
